Install help

A warning on first launch is expected.

Toolbox isn't code-signed yet, which costs money every year. So Windows and macOS show a warning the first time you open it. Here's how to get past it once.

Windows 10 and 11

  1. Run the setup file you downloaded.
  2. If you see "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Toolbox installs for your user only. It doesn't ask for admin rights.

To uninstall, open Settings, then Apps, then Toolbox.

Mac with Apple Silicon

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Toolbox to Applications.
  2. Open Toolbox. When macOS says it can't verify the app, click Done.
  3. Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to Toolbox, then confirm.

Needs an M1 or newer chip. Macs with Intel chips aren't supported yet.

Every version, with checksums and the source code, is on GitHub Releases.

Only download videos and audio you own, that are openly licensed, or that you have permission to save. Downloading can break a site's terms or copyright law.
